The year was 1986; the city, New York. The founding members had just come off stage after opening for KISS at the Garden. It was a crazy time of easy cash and cheap thrills. Since meeting on tour as back-up flautists for Jethro Tull in the 70s, success had been their dream. But endless nights on the road had taken their toll. It was in the early-morning hours, after that KISS gig, eating runny eggs at a dive bar that burned down a week later, that the band set course for something more. ECDC was born.

Within a few short weeks, the international supergroup took shape with the addition of multiple amazing musicians. In the past 35 years, ECDC has been through it all. Rehab. Bankruptcy. Cholera. But the ECDC machine rolls on. They rocked the Superbowl in ’93. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in ‘07. And they captured the Governor General’s Award in ’13. Even with their fame and fortune, they still call Edmonton home to Edmonton. It’s been a long way to the top for ECDC.
